Training

Inside the Mediator's Art
- for attorneys with mediation experience, either as a negotiator or mediator.  Includes a one day small group seminar (three attorneys) focusing on effective mediator techniques, process issues, and skill development through advanced role-playing exercises.  Each participant then observes one of my mediations, followed by a detailed debriefing.

Negotiation, Mediation & Adjudication: Paths to Agreement and Dispute Resolution - a one day introduction to these three important processes for reaching agreement and resolving disputes, designed for college classes, business & professional groups, etc.  Participants learn to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each process and use role-plays to develop some practical skills as negotiators and mediators.

Talks (free of charge)

Negotiators & Mediators - A Glimpse from Around the World
- an entertaining talk on negotiator and mediator techniques in other cultures, based on my experiences & research in Italy, Kenya, India and other countries.  The talk concludes with a live performance on the fiddle of a tune which settled a dispute in an African village.  40 to 50 minutes long.

Law and Society: Mission Impossible? - Maintaining social order, protecting individual freedom, and providing for social change are critical tasks that advanced societies assign to Law. What is this thing to which we entrust such primary goals, and what can a society's legal system tell us about that society?  30 to 40 minutes long.

Additional Talks from my travels abroad are described at my music website: www.FiddlingAround.net
